The getting drunk under capitalism part was super interesting - i agree that there’s a dark undertone to the widespread interest in sobriety and even celibacy (and now religion ???) I think the individual choice is fine but when an entire generation is so obsessed with the concept of “wellness” at the cost of like any earthly pleasure i start to get a little scared !
hard agree!!! it’s so interesting how no matter the movement, moderation is always skipped over..Atheism or full fledged Catholicism, sobriety or 365 party girl. whatever happened to two things being the at once?!!?
